In 2022, the Japanese government launched the “startup incubation five-year plan” to invest JPY10 trillion ($6.7bn) in startups by 2027, creating 100 unicorns. How is the plan shaping up so far, how can foreign venture capital help accelerate this and what factors can encourage more foreign venture investment?
